Locally owned and operated in Lake Clifton, husband and wife duo, Jayden and Kym Reed, established JKR Building in 2012 as a company filled with passion and dedication.

The JKR Building Company Journey

Meet & Greet Phase

Meet our head builder and director Jayden to discuss the general scope of your project. Jayden uses his vast experience to understand your vision and begin planning your build. We’ll create a design brief, forming the foundation of your project.

Concept Meeting & Preliminary Drawings

Following the initial meeting, a concept agreement is prepared, typically including a site survey and design. The development of concept drawings occurs and you’ll receive a more precise estimate for your build.

Planning & Budgeting
(Preparation of Plans Agreement)

At this phase, consultants are engaged to finalise all necessary reports including structural engineering and energy assessments. A fixed price quote is presented and thoroughly discussed with you, before the PPA is confirmed.

Building Contracts

A meeting is scheduled to arrange and sign your building contracts, typically using Housing Industry Association (HIA) contracts. Once the contracts have been signed, your project moves to the approval and permits phase.

Approval & Permits

All necessary permits and approvals are secured from the relevant authorities. Simultaneously, the finer details of the build are fine-tuned, including finish selections and customisation to your preferences.

Construction

Once permits are granted, construction of your project begins. Regular progress updates and timelines are provided to you and Jayden is heavily involved throughout the entire build and available to address any queries.

Handover

Once the build is completed, a final walkthrough is conducted to ensure all finishes meet your expectations. Once everything is confirmed to your satisfaction, the keys are handed over with all other documentation including manuals, warranties etc. We’ll be available for ongoing support or future queries.

Jayden Reed

Jayden Reed, Founder and Managing Director of JKR Building Company, has over 24 years of experience in the building industry. Before launching JKR, he honed his skills as a carpenter and spent 10 years managing construction sites. Jayden oversees every stage of each project, ensuring clients clearly understand the look and feel of their custom home builds. By taking on a select number of projects, Jayden guarantees a high standard of workmanship from his team of expert tradespeople. His expertise also extends to commercial projects, where he consistently delivers high quality results.

Kym Reed

Kym Reed, JKR Building Company’s interior designer, holds a Diploma of Interior Design and believes in making beautiful spaces accessible to all. Her passion for organic design drives her to create timeless, functional environments reflecting the lifestyles and desires of her clients. Kym’s approach balances aesthetics with usability, ensuring well-designed are also practical and enjoyable to live in. Her design philosophy embraces simplicity and nature, crafting inviting spaces that resonate with those who inhabit them. Together with her husband Jayden, Kym brings this philosophy to life in every project.
